About the Role
As a Claims Adjuster at Charles Taylor, you will play a crucial role in investigating and resolving insurance claims in a timely and professional manner. Your primary responsibility will be to thoroughly examine claims, determine their legitimacy, and negotiate financial settlements with insured parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and acknowledge new claims, ensuring prompt and efficient processing
- Manage and coordinate claims, utilizing strong organizational and IT skills to meet deadlines
- Collaborate with surveyors, lawyers, and other experts to gather necessary information and make informed decisions
- Communicate effectively with insured parties, brokers, and other stakeholders to resolve claims
- Prepare detailed reports on claim investigations, including legal and policy liability considerations
- Calculate and agree on settlement amounts, ensuring fairness and accuracy
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement
- Contribute to the development of the Yacht Practice and wider Marine services, promoting cross-selling and business growth
Requirements
- Higher-level education in a relevant field, such as insurance or risk management
- Minimum 4 years of experience in loss adjusting or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
- Strong organizational and IT skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage workload effectively
