About the Role
As a Claims Adjuster at Charles Taylor, you will play a crucial role in investigating and resolving insurance claims in a timely and professional manner. Your primary responsibility will be to thoroughly examine claims, determine their legitimacy, and negotiate financial settlements with policyholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process new claims, ensuring timely and accurate handling
- Manage and coordinate claims investigations, collaborating with experts as needed
- Prepare detailed reports on claim findings, including legal and policy liability considerations
- Communicate regularly with policyholders, insurers, and other stakeholders to resolve claims efficiently
- Calculate and agree on claim settlements, ensuring accurate and fair outcomes
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments, applying this knowledge to inform claims decisions
- Contribute to the growth and development of the Yacht Practice and Marine services, promoting these to existing and potential clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
- Travel as necessary to attend business development and marketing events, identifying new business opportunities
Requirements
- Higher-level education in a relevant field, such as insurance or risk management
- Minimum 4 years of experience in loss adjusting or a related field
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
