Ferno UK Limited is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team based within a 30-mile radius of Enfield. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing routine and ad-hoc servicing and repair of mechanical products, ensuring safety standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Service and Repair Work: Provide routine and ad-hoc servicing and repair of mechanical products, ensuring safety standards are maintained.
- Travel to customers to repair and service Ferno and other manufacturers' products.
- Carry out checks and replacements of electrical components, in line with qualification requirements.
- Ensure tools and spare parts are kept safely and securely at all times.
- Ensure adequate supply of basic spare parts is maintained on the Service van.
- Work safely, ensuring Health and Safety and COSHH regulations are adhered to.
- Advise customers where a product cannot be successfully repaired to a safe standard.
- Undertake customer training to enable them to quality to service products internally.
- Carry out service and repair in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
- Ensure that Head of Service / Sales & Marketing Manager authorises all customers' requests for work.
- Contact Head of Service / Sales & Marketing Manager daily.
- Keep a detailed log of work for each job completed.
- Maintain a log of travelling time and distance.
- Complete expenses reports on a weekly basis.
- Complete a service report after each job completed.
- Keep an accurate record of van stock at all times.
- Report any accidents in the vans and ensure approval is gained for any repair work required.
- Report any customer complaints or quality issues encountered to Head of Service immediately on becoming aware of them, whether minor or significant.
- Follow journey planning as directed by Head of Service, using initiative to suggest improvements.
- Work with the Head of Service to identify opportunities for enhancing the service provided.
- Support Head of Service with effective diary management, ensuring effective communication about progress on jobs and ad-hoc callouts.
- Undertake other duties, such as audits and site surveys.
- Any other duties as required by the business.
Requirements
- Ability to work away from home where required to cover other areas of the UK.
- Experience of repairing and servicing mechanical products.
- Experience of using practical and mechanical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blown view drawings.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify improvements to processes and services.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional approach to customers and colleagues at all times.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, including ability to work to tight deadlines and to act on own initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and ability to engage and build relationships with a wide range of people, including customers and colleagues.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience of dealing with customer queries and issues.
- Experience of providing excellent customer service.
