Bridge Design Expert Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Bridge Design Expert to join our team at Waterman Group. As a key member of our Bridges team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality bridge design projects and providing technical leadership to our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor teams on bridge design projects, including structural analysis, feasibility studies, and detailed design.
  • Provide technical support to the Technical Director and contribute to business development and client relationship management.
  • Collaborate with other bridge teams to ensure efficient and successful project delivery.
  • Proactively identify and implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency and project outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Chartered engineer (MICE or MIStructE) with significant post-professional experience in civil and structural engineering.
  • Project management and technical delivery lead experience on small to medium schemes, with detailed knowledge of National Highways and/or Network Rail procedures.
  • Strong technical design and problem-solving skills, with experience in contracts and contractual issues.
  • Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW).
  • Experience in design and assessment of steel, reinforced, and pre-stressed concrete structures, as well as grillage, space frame, and finite element analysis software.
