Are you a seasoned bridge design expert looking to take on a new challenge? We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Design Engineer to join our Bridges team in Redhill.

At Waterman, we're passionate about delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to meet the needs of our clients. As a Senior Bridge Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in leading and mentoring teams on complex bridge and civil structural projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting to the Technical Director and providing support on project delivery, client relationships, and business development.
  • Leading and mentoring teams on tasks such as structural analysis, feasibility studies, tender designs, and detailed designs.
  • Using your knowledge and skills to lead a team and other disciplines in providing an integrated service to clients.
  • Proactively identifying and implementing innovative solutions to improve efficiency and project outcomes.

You'll ideally have qualifications, experience, or skills in the following areas:

  • Chartered engineer (MICE or MIStructE) with considerable post-professional experience in civil and structural engineering.
  • Project management and technical delivery lead of small to medium schemes, with detailed experience of National Highways and/or Network Rail procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience in contracts and contractual issues.
  • Strong technical design and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) in relation to structural schemes and/or Network Rail design procedures.
