Job Title: Lead Mechanical Engineer

Adecco Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Hull on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and engineering, with experience in leading teams and managing projects.

Job Summary:

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical services, including design, FEED, and EPCm scope preparation and execution. They will also be responsible for managing and growing the mechanical engineering team, developing design scope, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical services relating to mechanical engineering elements of project scopes, including design, FEED, and EPCm scope preparation and execution.
  2. Act as technical expert in mechanical engineering and final technical approval authority.
  3. Lead the mechanical engineering team, developing design scope and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  4. Coordinate mechanical engineering interfaces between project phases.
  5. Establish professional working relationships and support technical queries/interpretation of scope, specifications, and standards.
Requirements:
  1. BSc/MSc or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Chartered Mechanical Engineer Status preferred.
  3. Experience in mechanical engineering design in the oil and gas, petro-chemical, or chemical industries.
  4. Significant Lead Mechanical Engineer experience within engineering consultancy, EPIC contractor, or client organisation.
  5. Package Engineering (rotating and/or static equipment) desirable.
  6. Team lead/management experience.
  7. Familiar with international design codes and standards.
  8. Experienced in mechanical/piping fabrication, steel structures, and mechanical-civil interface.
  9. Experienced in 3D design and modelling methods used within the discipline.
