Job Title: Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Adecco Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Hull on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering design and experience in leading teams.

Job Summary:

The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for providing technical services related to mechanical engineering elements of project scopes. This includes design, FEED, and EPCm scope preparation and execution, design/safety reviews, specification and procurement of equipment and materials, vendor selection, and timely resolution of technical and engineering issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical services relating to mechanical engineering elements of project scopes, with a focus on design, FEED, and EPCm scope preparation and execution.
  2. Act as technical expert in mechanical engineering and the final technical approval authority.
  3. Lead the mechanical engineering team, developing design scope and ensuring that all related deliverables are in compliance with applicable codes, standards, etc.
  4. Coordinate mechanical engineering interfaces between project phases.
  5. Establish professional working relationships, support technical queries/interpretation of scope, specifications, and standards.
Requirements:
  1. BSc/MSc or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Chartered Mechanical Engineer Status.
  3. Experience in mechanical engineering design in the oil and gas, petro-chemical, or chemical industries.
  4. Significant Lead Mechanical Engineer experience within engineering consultancy, EPIC contractor, or client organization.
  5. Package Engineering (rotating and/or static equipment) desirable.
  6. Team lead/management experience.
  7. Familiar with international design codes and standards.
  8. Experienced in mechanical/piping fabrication, steel structures, and mechanical-civil interface.
  9. Experienced in 3D design and modeling methods used within the discipline.
