About the Role

This is a key leadership position within Network Rail, responsible for driving operational performance improvement across the Western route, with a strong focus on the Thames Valley area.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Lead the development and delivery of performance improvement projects, working closely with stakeholders to identify and address operational challenges.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce delays, and enhance passenger experience.
  3. Manage a team of technical professionals, providing direction, motivation, and leadership to support the delivery of route and business objectives.
  4. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and deliver a programme of change projects, ensuring compliance with company processes and procedures.
  5. Provide expert operational advice and guidance to sponsors and project teams, ensuring that operational requirements are met and risk assessments are undertaken.
  6. Lead the review and acceptance of documentation to verify that all necessary operational requirements have been accommodated.
  7. Manage the development and delivery of a programme of change projects, delivering regular progress reports to Executive Sponsors and Functional Directors.
