Glasgow Life is seeking a skilled professional to join our Libraries and Communities Team as a Libraries and Communities Officer (Media Literacy). This is a fixed-term contract for up to 1 year, working 21 hours per week.

About the Role

As a Libraries and Communities Officer (Media Literacy), you will be responsible for delivering a media literacy project funded by Ofcom's 'Making Sense of Media' programme. Your primary duties will include:

  • Community Engagement: Engage with the public to understand their digital experience and identify areas for improvement.
  • Partnership Engagement: Work with key stakeholders to understand priority issues related to media literacy across the city and identify gaps in current provision.
  • Equalities: Collaborate with equality groups and organizations with protected characteristics to ensure that services meet their needs and concerns about online safety.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop training materials and short courses for front-line advisors and learners in various settings.
  • Networking and Benchmarking: Lead on networking and benchmarking activities with partner projects in England and Wales, identifying and sharing best practices in media literacy awareness.

You will work closely with the Libraries and Communities Co-ordinator (Inclusion) and be responsible for delivering a range of tasks, including community engagement, partnership engagement, equalities, training and awareness, and networking and benchmarking.

About You

We are looking for a flexible and adaptable individual with a positive and proactive attitude. You will have excellent digital and communication skills, as well as experience in delivering learning and/or employability projects, stakeholder engagement, performance and quality reporting, and evaluation.
