Housing Officer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Officer to join our team at Nacro, a national Social Justice Charity. As a Housing Officer, you will play a vital role in providing flexible and holistic support to residents with complex needs, helping them to access and maintain stable accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to address residents' housing and wellbeing needs.
  • Work closely with residents, partner agencies, and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Manage a caseload of residents, providing regular support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of housing and benefits systems, including Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the service.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Ability to work with vulnerable adults, including those with complex needs and challenging behaviors.
