Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Shift Based Engineering Technician to join our team. As a Shift Based Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for driving line performance, conducting corrective and breakdown maintenance, and implementing proactive line improvements. You will work closely with the maintenance planning team and production engineering team to prioritize projects and initiatives to increase overall equipment effectiveness (GE) and mean time between failures (MTBF).
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), autonomous maintenance (AM), and breakdown work as required
- Take an active part in planned maintenance and repair of plant and equipment
- Participate in the site responsible persons team and be part of the fire response team
- Work as a close-knit team to drive the resolution of plant breakdowns and resolve running issues
- Support and drive packing line format change overs and identify improvements to reduce change over time
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement (CI) and GE improvement activities
- Assist, support, and implement project work when required
- Maintain good levels of housekeeping in all areas
- Attend and participate in OPS/production meetings and RCA sessions
- Support the operational team to meet volume demands
- Active use of SAP to log breakdown data, correctives, and booking parts out of stores
Requirements
- Time served apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical discipline, or be multiskilled
- Expectation to become fully multi-skilled
- Knowledge and experience of all relevant technologies and equipment
- Minimum of Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent qualification in engineering
- Experience and use of SAP maintenance programme
- Demonstrate good understanding of relevant industry standards for Mechanical & Electrical engineering
- Self-motivated, team player, flexible, and prepared to take on a range of responsibilities without supervision
