Role Overview

Venn Group is partnering with an organisation that supports the UK parliament to recruit a Pension Governance Specialist on a 6 month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the annual timetable for Trustee meetings, including drafting agendas and minutes within set deadlines.
  • Prepare briefing materials and conduct research, ensuring up-to-date knowledge in relevant areas.
  • Assist in the annual audit process and preparation of pension scheme accounts, along with drafting and maintaining business plan reports for Trustees.
  • Oversee pension fund expenditure, monitor invoices, and support general stewardship duties.
  • Manage communication with Trustees, Members, and former Members, providing a high-quality, responsive service.
  • Engage with Members of Parliament on pension matters.
  • Support the team in contract management of Trustee-appointed suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide ad hoc project management assistance.
Requirements
  • Expertise in pension scheme administration and Secretariat Services, with experience supporting Trustee Boards.
  • Ability to draft high-quality briefings and papers, using diverse research to meet audience needs.
  • Strong organisational skills for planning, prioritising, and meeting deadlines with high standards.
  • Effective relationship-building and communication, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Proficient in IT skills, offering support and coaching as required.

Estimated salary: £34,980 per annum (pro rata) + excellent benefits. Location: Central London. Duration: 6 month fixed term contract, with a possibility of extension or move to permanent.
