Job Description

**Business Assurance Specialist**

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Assurance Specialist to join our team at St. James's Place. As a Business Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the compliance and integrity of our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough compliance checks on business submissions from our partners to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice to our Business Risk and Field Management teams on any issues raised during the compliance checking process.
  • Deliver projects as required, including partner investigations and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Attend regular meetings with our Support team to ensure a consistent approach to compliance and to discuss areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that our business operations maintain an acceptable and consistent level of service standards.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Ability to undertake complex calculations when assessing cases related to income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and annual lifetime pensions allowances.
  • Ability to make suggestions for improvements to our processes to contribute to continuous improvement within the Business Assurance function.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to articulate complex feedback in a clear and concise manner.
  • Resilience to setbacks and challenges, with the ability to handle expectations accordingly.
Special Requirements:
  • CII Level 4 Diploma or equivalent qualification, or be working towards becoming fully qualified.
  • Be willing to work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for the initial six months.
  • Be a genuine team player who enjoys working with people and solving problems.
