Business Assurance Specialist

As a Business Assurance Adviser at St. James's Place, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the compliance and risk management of our business operations. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough checks on business submissions from our partners, identifying any potential issues or areas of concern.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct compliance checks on business submissions from partners, identifying potential issues or areas of concern.
- Advise Business Risk and Field Management on any issues raised from file checking, enabling feedback to the partner.
- Deliver projects as required, including partner investigations.
- Attend regular meetings to ensure a consistent approach on all areas of support reviewing and discuss areas where improvements/changes can be made.
- Ensure an acceptable and consistent level of service standards are maintained.
Requirements:
- PC literate, including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.
- Ability to undertake complex calculations when assessing cases related to Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, annual lifetime pensions allowances, and the analysis of ceding scheme information, etc.
- Ability to make suggestions for improvements to processes to contribute to continuous improvement within the Business Assurance function.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, ability to articulate complex feedback in a way that is understood and accepted.
- Resilience to setbacks and challenges and the ability to handle expectations accordingly.
Special Requirements:
- CII Level 4 Diploma or have passed two examinations and working towards becoming fully qualified.
- Be willing for the initial first 6 months to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
- Be a genuine teammate who likes working with people and solving problems.
