Job Title: Healthcare Solicitor

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Solicitor to join our team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Legal Services Department, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our clinicians and staff.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical negligence claims, inquests, and healthcare law. You will be responsible for providing legal advice on a range of clinical and non-clinical issues, including consent, capacity, and confidentiality. You will also be expected to attend inquests, conduct advocacy, and work closely with our clinicians and staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice on clinical negligence claims, inquests, and healthcare law
  • Attend inquests and conduct advocacy
  • Work closely with clinicians and staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients
  • Provide legal advice on a range of clinical and non-clinical issues, including consent, capacity, and confidentiality
  • Manage and develop the Legal Services Team, including staff development, appraisal, and performance management
Requirements
  • Experience of working clinical negligence claims within the NHS
  • Experience in attending inquests and conducting advocacy
  • Experience of healthcare advisory matters, including consent, capacity, and confidentiality
  • Previous experience of High Court matters
  • Excellent general knowledge of clinical/medical terminology
  • Experience of working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and ability to manage own workload
