About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Solicitor to join our team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Legal Services Department, you will provide expert legal advice on clinical negligence claims, inquests, and other healthcare-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on clinical negligence claims, including investigation, litigation, and settlement.
  • Attend inquests and conduct advocacy on behalf of the Trust.
  • Advise on healthcare-related matters, including consent, capacity, and confidentiality.
  • Work closely with the Trust's Quality Team to identify and address patient safety risks.
  • Manage a team of legal professionals, including staff development, appraisal, and performance management.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in clinical negligence claims within the NHS.
  • Experience in attending inquests and conducting advocacy.
  • Experience of healthcare advisory matters, including consent, capacity, and confidentiality.
  • Previous experience of High Court matters.
  • Excellent general knowledge of clinical/medical terminology.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualification in Legal Practice (Masters level or equivalent).
  • Admission as Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
