Job Title: Gynaecology Ward Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gynaecology Ward Manager to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strong leadership and management to our Gynaecology ward, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Gynaecology ward team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among staff members.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and outcomes, in line with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate the ward's resources, including staff, equipment, and supplies, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Monitor and evaluate the ward's performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including infection control and medication management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Active Registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse.
  • Recognised Nursing degree.
  • Compassionate leadership program or training completed.
  • Experience of managing or leading a team as band 6 or above in the NHS.
  • Knowledge or experience of change management, quality assurance processes, and working within a budget.
  • Evidence of development and evaluation of training resources.
  • Undertaken a QI project.
Desirable:
  • Experience of working in gynaecology/womens health.
  • Transformation team focused leader.
