Job Title: Independent Living Coach

The estimated annual salary for this role is £26,000 - £31,000 depending on experience.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Independent Living Coach to join our team at Social Personnel. As an Independent Living Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting young people who have left care to develop the skills and confidence they need to live independently.

You will work closely with care leavers to assess their needs and develop personalized plans to help them achieve their goals. This will involve identifying areas where they need additional support and developing strategies to address these needs. You will also work collaboratively with other agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support and guidance, including helping them access education, training, employment, and accommodation opportunities.

In addition to your direct work with care leavers, you will also play a crucial role in advocating on their behalf and liaising with other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met. This may involve attending meetings and conferences to discuss their progress and any challenges they are facing.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Support young people who have left care to develop the skills and confidence they need to live independently.
  2. Assess the needs of care leavers and develop personalized plans to help them achieve their goals.
  3. Work collaboratively with other agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support and guidance, including helping them access education, training, employment, and accommodation opportunities.
  4. Advocate on behalf of care leavers and liaise with other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in social work or a related field.
  • Proven experience of working with vulnerable young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
