About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced mental health professional to join our Children in Care team at Dudley CAMHS. The successful candidate will have a strong background in working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and attachment issues.

The role will involve providing specialist clinical services to looked after children, young people, and their carers, as well as advising and consulting with colleagues from other agencies. The ideal candidate will have excellent assessment and care planning skills, with the ability to manage complex mental health needs.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and is committed to working collaboratively with health, education, and social services. The successful candidate will be an important member of our team, contributing to service planning, development, and client care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical services to looked after children, young people, and their carers.
  • Advise and consult with colleagues from other agencies.
  • Participate in audit, policy, and service development within the specialist area of the Children and Young People in Care team.
  • Contribute to meetings regarding service planning, development, and client care.
  • Act as an advanced source of knowledge for consultation, supervision, and training of junior staff and other professionals.
Person Specification
  • Professional qualification in a mental health-related subject.
  • Degree/equivalent experience in CAMH-related field.
  • Demonstrates assessment, risk assessment, and care planning skills.
  • Demonstrates experience of working in child and adolescent mental health and with looked after children.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and manage the complex mental health needs of children and young people in care.
