Senior Mental Health Practitioner

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) as a Senior Mental Health Practitioner. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical and team leadership, working with a multi-disciplinary team to provide expertise in the care of children and young people with complex mental health needs and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice, support and supervision on safeguarding children and young people in CAMHS.
- Lead and work with other members of the multi-disciplinary CAMHS Team and with colleagues from other services.
- Provide professional expertise in the assessment, planning, implementation and review of care for children and young people in CAMHS.
- Support the Dudley CAMHS Duty and SPA rota system.
- Provide professional advice and support to other agencies and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Person Specification
- Recognised professional qualification and registration in CAMHS related subject.
- Degree/equivalent experience in CAMHS related field.
- Evidence of continuous professional development in mental health related field.
- Has trained in a specific therapeutic intervention such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, SFT etc.
- Demonstrates ability to apply a variety of therapeutic approaches within a CAMH setting.
- Demonstrates extensive experience of working in specialist CAMHS or equivalent transferable skills.
- Demonstrates extensive post qualification experience of care co-ordination and management of complex CAMHS (or equivalent) caseloads.
- Demonstrates experience of supervising junior staff.
