Commercial Management Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our centralised audit team, supporting National Highways' £1bn investment programme to maintain the Strategic Road Network.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial and contract management of defined cost audits, supporting a portfolio of schemes with varying values. You will work closely with the supply chain to ensure contractor compliance with contract conditions and maintain collaborative working relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and leading on cost and contract audits
  • Maintaining supply chain management, including sending enquiry documentation and quotation assessment
  • Assisting in the management of site-level change control, including early warning and compensation event management
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure accurate data and reconciliation

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or a relevant technical qualification
  • Basic experience in NEC4 forms of contract, including NEC Schedule of Cost Components
  • Intermediate level MS Excel skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of commercial management
