Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring accurate financial planning and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead the procurement process, working with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the best value for the business.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations on time, while maintaining a close eye on project cash flow and payment schedules.
  • Administer contracts, addressing variations and resolving disputes to maintain smooth project execution.
  • Create detailed cost reports and forecasts, providing key insights to senior management and project teams on project performance.
  • Identify financial risks early in the project and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the project's profitability.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior surveyors, ensuring a consistent approach to cost management across projects.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential construction sector, with a focus on new build housing or apartments.
  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with membership in a professional body such as RICS being an advantage.
  • Proficiency in construction contracts such as JCT and NEC, and familiarity with cost management software.
  • A strong eye for detail, with the ability to provide accurate financial insights and tackle challenges as they arise.
