Job Summary

The Recruitment Co is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Maintenance Engineer to join our client's team in Nelson. As a market leader in the retail distribution sector, our client requires a professional who can deliver a high-quality engineering service to support operational targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Engineering Team Lead to achieve operational excellence and continuously improve performance standards.
  • Deliver a full range of maintenance activities across the installed asset base, including rapid diagnosis and resolution of mechanical, electrical, and control & instrumentation faults.
  • Complete all work allocated to a high standard, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to support other teams and departments as required.
  • Accurately complete monitoring systems and report any non-conformances to Company Policies/Procedures/Standards.
  • Support the delivery of key performance indicators for the Factory, linked to Safety, Quality, People, Delivery, and Cost Standards.
Competency Requirements
  1. Safety:
    Competent at completing safety device system checks and isolation activities, and immediately reporting any non-conformances and food safety concerns.
  2. Quality:
    Competent at completing documentation and complying with Engineering Standards/GMP/HACCP.
  3. People:
    Qualified Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with FMCG experience, compliant with mandatory training, and able to provide buddying training to other Team Members.
  4. Delivery:
    Multi-skilled: electrical and mechanical, with the ability to fault find and rectify faults, and create effective MME improvement plans.
  5. Cost:
    Able to make cost-effective decisions and proactively carry out service repairs and identify equipment modifications to improve MME and OEE performance.
Working Conditions

This role involves working on a continental shift pattern, consisting of 2 weeks on days and 2 weeks on nights, with an average of 42 hours per week. The working hours are 6am – 6pm and then 6pm – 6am (12 hour shifts).

Compensation

The annual salary for this role is £53,272.96.
