Radar Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Principal Radar Engineer to join our Radar Systems Engineering Team at BAE Systems (New). As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for leading the development of novel solutions to complex technical challenges and emerging issues for Multi-Function Radar Systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in applying systems engineering principles, techniques, and governance to steer and develop technical solutions. They will also have a breadth of knowledge in subjects such as signal processing, target track extraction, object classification algorithms, system and sensor resource optimisation, and factors that can affect real-world sensing system performance.

This role offers the opportunity to lead system design analysis, collaborate with specialists across different engineering disciplines, and direct and undertake system integration, test planning, and execution. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop novel solutions to evolving technical challenges and emerging issues for complex Multi-Function Radar Systems
  • Apply systems engineering principles, techniques, and governance to steer and develop technical solutions
  • Lead system design analysis to manage trade-offs of system parameters
  • Collaborate with specialists across different engineering disciplines

Requirements:

  • A good understanding of systems engineering principles, techniques, and governance
  • Experience in presenting both technical and non-technical information in a formal setting
  • Breadth of knowledge in subjects such as signal processing, target track extraction, object classification algorithms, system and sensor resource optimisation, and factors that can affect real-world sensing system performance
