About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Land Buyer to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a key member of our Land and Planning department, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring viable land opportunities for residential development.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and appraise new land opportunities for residential development, ensuring they align with our business strategy and core values.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local authorities, landowners, and other stakeholders to secure land agreements.
- Prepare accurate viability assessments and present development opportunities to senior colleagues for approval.
- Collate build costs, sales market research, and technical information to undertake a detailed assessment of a site's potential for development.
- Work with our Planning Manager to obtain planning consents, discharge planning conditions, and manage S106 obligations and CIL payments.
- Assist in negotiating legal agreements with lawyers and third parties.
- Assist in preparing approval packs for the Main Board to obtain approval to proceed with land acquisitions.
Requirements
- Degree-qualified, ideally in a property-related field.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior colleagues.
- Strong geographical knowledge and understanding of the residential market.
- Able to identify viable land development opportunities and build a short and medium-term pipeline landbank.
- Good understanding of Excel and residual appraisals.
- Technical ability and good understanding of the planning process.
