About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Housekeeping Aide to join our team at peopleCare Communities, a rapidly growing organization recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies. This award acknowledges top companies for their performance, growth, strategy, and commitment to excellence.

The successful candidate will maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the Home by cleaning and sanitizing rooms and furniture in assigned work areas, following established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Receives assignment, gathers necessary materials and supplies, loads the service cart, and transports it to the work area.
  • Using specified cleaning agents and procedures, performs tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, dry/wet mopping, scrubbing, and sanitizing/disinfecting floors, walls, windows, and doors between washing, dusting, emptying wastebaskets, rearranging furniture, removing waste, daily cleaning and disinfecting bathroom fixtures, replenishing supplies, cleaning floors, fixtures, and furniture in utility rooms, kitchens, closets, etc.

The ideal candidate will ensure resident privacy during duties, inspect furniture and surfaces in need of repair or maintenance, add deficiencies to the Yardi Maintenance system, adhere to department policies regarding quality assurance, safety, environment, and infection control, report hazards to the immediate supervisor, use personal protective equipment as required, and participate in fire safety activities.

Educational Requirements and Experience: The successful candidate should have some understanding of chemicals and equipment used in cleaning, basic knowledge of housekeeping with independent working skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
