At NSPCC, we strive to be there for every child and young person who needs our support, 24/7. As a Childline Practitioner (Twilight), you will play a vital role in delivering this service alongside a dedicated team.

About the Role

You will work a hybrid rota which includes a consistent balance of daytime, twilight, and night shifts across a 6-week pattern. This will include weekend working one in every three weeks (or one in six weeks for those on 17.5 hour contracts). You can choose to work from home for a third of your days, and every Childline Practitioner (Twilight) receives a 10.5% rota allowance on top of their basic salary.

We are looking for talented individuals who share our values of supporting children and young people. To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background working with children and young people within a safeguarding context
  • A passion for supporting others, especially in emotionally challenging situations
  • The ability to lead on key on-shift safeguarding decisions and use coaching to maintain and develop the quality of the service

You will be part of a committed and dedicated team who share your values of supporting children and young people. Together, you will deliver this vital service and make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of children and young people every year.

As a Childline Practitioner (Twilight), you will have opportunities to directly support children and young people by responding to contacts in your role. You will also provide effective supervision, coaching, feedback, training, and support to volunteers outside of shift hours.
