Support Worker Job Description

This role involves working with children and young people in a residential setting, providing emotional and social support, promoting independence, and enhancing self-esteem and respect.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional and social support to children and young people, building strong relationships and encouraging positive interactions.
  • Enhance self-esteem and respect by helping young people develop a positive self-image and feel valued.
  • Promote positive life choices and independence by supporting children in making positive decisions and achieving levels of independence appropriate to their age and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of events, observations, progress, child protection matters, and health and safety checks.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience working with children and/or young people in a residential childcare or teaching setting.
  • NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Full Enhanced DBS disclosure required for this role.
Salary and Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary of £11.44 per hour, with a range of benefits, including pension scheme, sick and maternity pay, and entertainment benefits.
