Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in the Christchurch area.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will assist teachers in implementing effective behaviour management strategies, provide individualised support to students facing behavioural challenges, and collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop customised intervention plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies
  • Provide individualised support to students with behavioural challenges
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop intervention plans
  • Foster a positive school ethos and contribute to the overall well-being of students
  • Manage low-level behaviour and attachment challenges among students
  • Provide feedback to teachers as needed
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with their needs
