Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SEND Case Work Officer to join our team in Huddersfield Town Centre. As a key member of our Assessment & Commissioning Team, you will be responsible for coordinating Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans that meet the unique needs of each child or young person.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of SEND provision, driving coordinated plans that support children's access to education and their transition into adulthood. You will work closely with services across education, health, and care to ensure that EHC plans are holistic, person-centered, and outcome-focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzing information to coordinate appropriate support and ensuring statutory compliance within legislative requirements.
  • Producing high-quality EHC plans through effective person-centered planning and analysis of information from various sources.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with families, professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in practice, legislation, and guidance to maintain expertise and provide informed advice.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a busy team to meet strict deadlines while prioritizing outcomes for children and young people.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Experience of SEN casework or transferable skills from an equivalent casework role.The ability to keep up-to-date with changes in practice, legislation, and guidance.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with families and professionals.

What We Offer

Kirklees Council offers a competitive salary of £32,076 - £34,834 per annum, depending on experience. This role also comes with opportunities for professional development and career progression within a dynamic and supportive team.
