Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Assistant to join our team at East End Primary. As a Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and positive learning experience for children with additional support needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teaching staff in providing a supportive and positive learning environment for children with additional support needs.
  • Assist children and young people with their personal needs and promote their independence.
  • Support learning and teaching activities, including providing support to children and young people with additional support needs.
  • Attend to the personal care and health needs of pupils with additional support needs, and assist in maintaining a safe, healthy, and hygienic environment.
  • Support pupils with their mobility needs.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young adults in a caring and supportive environment.
  • Ability to observe professional confidentiality and implement sound judgment.
  • Ability to use initiative and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to work under the guidance and direction of teaching staff.
  • Ability to assist young people with special educational needs in personal and medical care.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and tolerance, and respond positively to a variety of additional support needs.
  • Ability and commitment to undertake further training and development as required.
