The South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils are seeking an experienced ecological professional to join their Ecology Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to shaping the future environment of southern Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert ecological advice to planning colleagues on small and medium-scale development proposals.
  • Negotiate with developers and defend planning decisions at appeals.
  • Conduct practical species and habitat surveys.
  • Advise on implementing and enforcing protected species and habitats regulations.
  • Assist in responding to the Environment Act 2021's biodiversity net gain requirements.
Requirements and Benefits
  • Essential qualifications: degree or diploma in ecology or related discipline.
  • Minimum three years' experience in an ecology-related role.
  • Full driving license and daily use of a car for business purposes.
  • Competitive salary: £42,576 - £48,530 per annum.
