Psychiatrist - Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Lewes, a category B remand prison based in East Sussex. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical care and assessment to patients on our caseload.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the caseload
- Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service
- Lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments
- Provide clinical supervision and work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviews
- Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course

- Support from the wider team
- Registered professional with current registration (GMC)
- Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
- Approved under section of the MHS 1983
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
- Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD
- Excellent communication skills with patients to understand their needs
- Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation
