Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Youth Emotional and Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Academics. This role will involve working with students to foster a nurturing and inclusive environment, promoting their wellbeing and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop trusting relationships with students, promoting their emotional wellbeing and social skills
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring students are engaged and participating
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents
  • Implement individualised therapeutic strategies to support students with autism
  • Support students in developing social communication skills

Requirements

  • Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Ability to develop trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Knowledge of therapeutic strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
