Job Title: Consultant in Child Health

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Child Health to join our team at the Jenny Lind Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to children and adolescents with a range of medical conditions, with a particular focus on paediatric obesity.

Job Summary:

The Consultant in Child Health will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the management of children and adolescents with paediatric obesity. The postholder will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans, and will be expected to contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality clinical care to children and adolescents with paediatric obesity
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise to the team
  • Participate in audit and quality improvement activities
Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • MRCPCH or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of working in a paediatric setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

The following qualifications and experience are desirable:

  • Higher degree such as MD, MSc or PhD
  • Experience of teaching and training
  • Knowledge of research techniques and design
