Senior Mechanical Design Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team at Ridge & Partners LLP. This exciting opportunity will see you working on a range of projects across various sectors, including education, commercial, and industrial.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver detailed design projects as part of a collaborative design team
- Liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors
- Attend project group and technical meetings to ensure seamless project delivery
- Ensure design and maintenance of building systems meet legislative and health and safety requirements
- Advise clients and architects on energy use and conservation, aiming to minimize environmental impact and reduce carbon footprint
- Design site-specific equipment as required
- Oversee and supervise installation of building systems and specify maintenance and operating procedures
- Utilize specialist CAD and BIM software to design systems required for the project
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require an accredited Building Services degree or higher educational qualification and significant experience in a similar role. Chartered or working towards chartered engineer status with a suitable institution is ideal. Excellent communication skills are essential to articulate complex issues between clients and project teams. Ambition, a willingness to learn, and high diligence and organizational skills are also essential.
