Permanent Childcare Lawyer

Are you a qualified lawyer with a passion for childcare law? We are seeking an experienced Childcare Lawyer to join our dynamic Legal Team at the London Borough of Lewisham.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in childcare law, preferably from a local authority setting. They will be responsible for handling a demanding and busy caseload of mainly child protection cases, with the opportunity to undertake advocacy in the Central Family Court.

The main duties of the role will include:

  • Deputising for the Senior Social Care Lawyers
  • Handling a caseload of child protection cases
  • Advising Social Services clients on all aspects of relevant legislation
  • Preparing legal documentation and court documents
  • Attending meetings with clients and external parties
  • Carrying out legal research
