PEBBLE RECRUITMENT LTD is seeking driven and qualified Town Planners eager to advance their careers, with openings available at both Planner and Senior Planner levels, contingent on experience.

The Birmingham division serves a diverse clientele, including urban residential developers, housebuilders, affordable housing providers, land promoters, retail operators, industrial and commercial developers, asset managers, investors, educational institutions, governmental agencies, and various departments.

As part of a comprehensive property consultancy, the team often collaborates with other sectors of the business, providing essential town planning guidance to facilitate property valuations, sales, acquisitions, and asset enhancement initiatives led by different divisions.

In this role, you will engage in a variety of projects and play a crucial part in project teams tackling intriguing and complex development proposals.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Contribute directly to the Birmingham planning team's efforts in delivering exceptional service to clients by securing optimal planning permissions and site allocations, along with providing sound, commercially-focused advice on planning strategies.
  • Operate within a results-oriented yet supportive environment that combines professional planning expertise, local insights, and strong relationships with clients, planning authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strive to create economic, social, and environmental value for clients and the communities served.
  • Conduct planning assessments to advise clients on the feasibility of obtaining planning consent and the most effective strategies for achieving it.
  • Perform research and analytical tasks, producing reports for clients.
  • Assist in managing project teams, typically consisting of architects and other consultants.
  • Prepare planning applications, including drafting sections of or entire Planning Statements and Statements of Community Involvement.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Honours degree in a relevant field (e.g., Town Planning, Geography, Economics)
  • RTPI-accredited planning degree
  • RTPI chartered membership
  • Over 2 years of experience in private or public sector planning
  • Familiarity with the development management process
  • Knowledge of planning policy, including the preparation of Local Plans and related documents
  • Proven ability in report writing
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a capacity to negotiate favorable outcomes for clients.
