History Curriculum Leader for East London School

We are seeking an experienced and passionate History teacher to lead our department in a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in East London.

About the Role:
The ideal candidate will be a proven educator with a deep understanding of the history curriculum, experience of leading a history department, and a commitment to inspiring students. They will have excellent leadership skills, the ability to develop and implement engaging curricula, and provide support and guidance to other teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the history department
- Develop and implement a rigorous and engaging history curriculum that meets the needs of all students
- Teach history lessons to KS3, KS4, and KS5 students, using innovative and effective teaching methods
- Support and develop other history teachers, helping them to improve their practice and achieve their goals
- Represent the history department at school events and meetings, promoting its work and achievements
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree in History or a related subject
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
- At least 5 years of teaching experience, with a track record of success and achievement
- Experience of leading a history department, with a proven ability to motivate and inspire staff and students
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this role is £40,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience. The package also includes a competitive benefits scheme, including pension, health insurance, and professional development opportunities.
