About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our finance team at Marshalls Garden, a leading online specialist gardening retailer. This role will be based in our Spalding office with opportunities for hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Insights and Analysis: Provide valuable insights and analysis to support the commercial trading plan, identifying seasonal trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular reviews of sales and margin performance across all marketing activity, feeding recommendations back into the relevant teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Operational Efficiency: Analyze dispatched goods data to identify opportunities for reducing the number of dispatched per order, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Category Support: Work closely with category teams to ensure accurate standard costs for material, labour, packaging, and distribution costs across all product costings, measuring against actuals for each season.
  • Pricing and Forecasting: Support category teams on costing, pricing reviews, including competitor price analysis and forecasting, ensuring data-driven decisions that reflect company objectives.
  • Business Reporting: Interrogate business reporting in multiple systems to ensure accuracy of data and suggest improvements and development as necessary.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualifications: Part-Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Business Acumen: Strong budgeting and forecasting skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills: The ability to challenge senior stakeholders and operate with appropriate impact and influence.
