Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care, support, and guidance to young people, helping them develop the skills needed for independent living.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a Positive Environment: Create a respectful and supportive atmosphere that encourages young people to thrive.
  • Support Team Efforts: Collaborate with the team to meet placement plan needs and ensure the well-being of young people.
  • Maintain Home Services: Ensure that home services are maintained and improved to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Encourage Personal Growth: Support young people in achieving their potential and taking responsibility for their actions.
  • Participate in Key Working Sessions: Attend and contribute to key working sessions and residents' meetings to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Ensure High Standards: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure that the living environment is safe and comfortable for young people.
  • Manage Challenging Situations: Handle challenging situations effectively and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Attend Meetings: Attend and contribute to meetings regarding young people's progress and development.
  • Complete Paperwork: Complete high-standard paperwork for meetings and updates in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
  • Engage Young People: Ability to engage young people in meaningful activities that promote their development and well-being.
  • Motivation Skills: Motivation skills to help young people meet their care plan targets and achieve their goals.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the organization and young people.
  • Physical Fitness: Physical fitness for household chores and restraint procedures.
  • Training and Qualifications: Willingness to undertake relevant training and complete a QCF Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare within a year (funded) or ideally already hold this qualification.
  • Driving License: Driving license is desirable but not essential.

We require 2 staff, one to work full-time 37 hours a week and the other to work 15.5 hours a week. The part-time role will have variable hours and the full-time role will work on a basis of 7, 24-hour shifts every 3 weeks with additional payment for sleep-in shifts.
