Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team in a residential setting. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping children and young people develop their life skills and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work closely with our experienced support staff to ensure the smooth operation of our residential services.
  • Resident Engagement: Develop strong, professional relationships with our residents, promoting their engagement and participation in activities.
  • Crisis Management: Handle challenging situations with calmness and effectiveness, prioritizing the well-being and safety of our residents.
  • Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to our residents as needed, fostering a sense of security and trust.
  • Activity Engagement: Participate in activities with our residents, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Scheduling: Work a flexible schedule, including 2-3 shifts per week, with hours between 08:30 and 22:00.
Requirements:
  • A current and up-to-date CV.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Residential Childcare.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate issued within the past 6 months or registered on the update service.
  • Valid mandatory training certificates, including safeguarding vulnerable children.
  • A minimum of 3 months' referenceable experience working in a residential childcare supported-living service.

  • A competitive hourly rate of £12.00-£12.50, depending on the days worked.
