Highway Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Highway Steward to join our team at Kent County Council. As a key member of our highway maintenance service, you will be responsible for investigating faults and arranging maintenance solutions with our contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a front-line service dealing with customers reporting faults on our highway network
- Investigate faults and arrange maintenance solutions with our contractor
- Work closely with Dartford and Gravesham Borough Councils, Parish Councils, and other local groups to deliver a high-quality maintenance service
- React to emergency situations, working alongside emergency services and other bodies to provide support and engineering measures where needed
Requirements
- Command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements
- Holding a full UK Driving Licence
What We Offer
A livered KCC vehicle will be provided to carry out inspections of the area. This role is subject to the Council's statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have the necessary language skills.
