Highway Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Highway Steward. As a key member of our highway maintenance service, you will be responsible for investigating faults and arranging maintenance solutions with our contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a front-line service dealing with customers reporting faults on our highway network
- Investigate faults and arrange maintenance solutions with our contractor
- Work closely with local authorities, Parish Councils, and other groups to deliver a high-quality maintenance service
- React to emergency situations, working alongside emergency services and other bodies to provide support and engineering measures
- Conduct inspections of the area using a livered KCC vehicle
Requirements
- Command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements
- Holding a full UK Driving Licence
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a key part of the highway maintenance service within Kent County Council. As a Highway Steward, you will be the eyes and ears for the highways service, working closely with local authorities and other groups to deliver a high-quality maintenance service.
This role is subject to holding a full UK Driving Licence and requires a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
