Teaching Assistant for Children with Special Needs

Job Overview:
This role involves providing essential support to pupils with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs in a dynamic and inclusive educational setting.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of SEND principles and be able to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted interventions to improve academic and personal outcomes for SEN pupils
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to education
- Contribute to the creation of a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes social inclusion and emotional well-being
- Work closely with the SENCO and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs of each pupil
- Assist teachers in preparing lesson plans, delivering instruction, and assessing pupil progress
- Administer and interpret assessments to inform teaching practices and identify areas for improvement
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in SEND
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and report back to parents and carers as required
Requirements:
- A minimum of six months' experience working with children with SEND in the UK
- An active DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Availability for full-time work during term time only
- A commitment to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection
Salary Estimate: £27,500 - £38,000 per annum, based on experience and location
