Cancer Pathway Coordinator

About the Role
The Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Cancer Pathway Tracker/Admin Medical Laboratory Assistant.
As a key member of the Cellular Pathology Department, you will be responsible for monitoring cancer pathway samples and facilitating their progress throughout the department to ensure timely and efficient turnaround.
You will work closely with cancer services, Biomedical Scientists, and Consultant Histopathologists to achieve this goal.
Additionally, you will split your time between this duty and an admin MLA role, which includes archiving slides and blocks, answering phone calls and emails, preparing MDTs, and general administrative tasks.
Main Duties
- To update Cancer Services Pathology Escalation spreadsheet as appropriate, ensuring all relevant information is available for the PTL meetings.
- General clerical duties associated with the work of the Laboratory, including filing, telephone answering, photocopying, etc.
- To ensure Pathology diagnostic tests have been correctly identified as "Cancer Pathway" and prioritized accordingly.
- To work closely with cancer services and Cellular Pathology technical and clinical team.
- To ensure office policy is adhered to, telephones answered promptly, queries dealt with promptly, and being courteous at all times to all members of staff.
