About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter to join our team at Allied World. As a key member of our Commercial Division, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and creative risk solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform extensive account analysis according to underwriting guidelines, including thorough review of underwriting applications, consideration of risk management protocols, and research via online services.
  • Collaborate with other Company departments to establish a full understanding of risk exposures and perform referrals as required.
  • Contribute to the formation of overall strategy and business plans, and execute them effectively.
Requirements
  • 5 years of demonstrable experience underwriting commercial combined or property business.
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid knowledge of pricing and actuarial models and methods.
  • Highly articulate with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, required for daily liaison with clients and brokers.
  • Strong marketing and business development capability, with commercial acumen and ability to influence and negotiate at various levels of seniority.
  • Highly computer literate within MS Office applications and advanced proficiency using underwriting systems.
