Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant in a Pupil Referral Unit in Dagenham. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in helping students re-engage with learning, working closely with teachers to support their academic and social development.

You will be responsible for providing targeted one-to-one and group support to students, assisting teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual learning needs, and monitoring student progress, behaviour, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and group support to students in a Pupil Referral Unit.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Help students manage their emotions and behaviours in a structured and supportive environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and engagement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages personal growth.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with previous experience in a Pupil Referral Unit or working with students with behavioural challenges. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
