About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a supportive secondary school in Dagenham. As an LSA, you will work closely with students in the classroom, providing tailored support to ensure they can engage with the curriculum and succeed academically.



Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Support: Provide support across various subjects to help students engage with learning activities.
  • Collaboration with Teachers: Work with teachers to adapt learning materials and strategies for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Neurodiversity Hub Support: Offer one-on-one support in the Neurodiversity Hub, providing targeted interventions for students with conditions such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and report on student progress, offering feedback to teachers, staff, and parents as required.
  • Nurturing Environment: Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that encourages student independence and confidence.
  • Self-Management Skills: Support students in developing self-management and social skills.


Requirements

  • Experience: Experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.
  • Neurodiversity Understanding: Understanding of neurodiversity and experience supporting students with special educational needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a flexible, proactive approach.
  • Possession: A passion for supporting young people in their educational journeys.
