Job Title: Moulding Technician

Technique Recruitment Solutions Limited is seeking a skilled Moulding Technician to join their team in Beccles. As a Moulding Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the moulding plant.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the Shift Supervisor, ensuring that planned and unplanned work is carried out to the highest standards. This will involve tool changing, colour changing, and insert changing tools, as well as servicing and preparing tooling for production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tool changing, colour changing, and insert changing tools
  • Servicing and preparing tooling for production
  • Servicing, rebuilding hot runners, and checking tolerances
  • Fault finding on machinery and various multi-cavity tooling
  • Carrying out quality checks as and when required
  • Basic servicing and cleaning of all machinery
  • Carrying out post-production tasks as and when required
  • Ensuring the department is safe, tidy, and clean during and at the end of each shift
  • Carrying out administration and reporting as necessary
  • Complying with quality standards as set by the Company
  • Ensuring all duties are carried out in accordance with current legislation and company procedures, particularly but not exclusively in regards to Health and Safety, Quality, and Environment
Requirements:
  • Technical qualification ideally minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent with proven work experience in a mechanical or automotive discipline
  • Production experience, setting various machines and tooling
  • Clear and proven competence of working in an engineering environment
  • The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and at all levels within the Company and with customers
  • Confident in challenging existing practices and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work
  • Able to work as part of a team to achieve team objectives
  • Able to respond positively to changing work demands
  • Takes decisive action to address and react to opportunities and problems in day-to-day work
  • Is conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities, and has a professional approach to work
  • Has a logical and methodical approach to problem-solving/fault finding issues
  • Ability to listen, and take up new skills
  • Desire to give a good service, recognising the importance of customer satisfaction on their own work
  • Able to follow instruction, to ensure work is completed as required
  • Ability to undertake duties in every respect as laid out in the job description (further to training if required)
